Matt Simpson has been with the Citation Kitchens family since 1986 as an Operations Manager born and raised in the Greater Vancouver area.
“During the week, I thrive on using my skills and knowledge to guide a very talented team of designers, craftsmen, and artisans towards our common goal of creating spaces for our customer’s lives to flourish. I’ve always had an interest in art and engineering; drawing and designing things, and in creating something that I’ve been inspired to turn into reality.”
Matt’s educational background is impressive and varied. He spent 1 year in the Arts at SFU, and 1 year in Architectural Drafting at BCIT. He’s been certified in Architectural Drafting since 1981 and worked at CJP Architects as a freelance drafter and designer prior to joining Citation to specialize in kitchen design and sales.
The idea that form should follow function has always intrigued Matt, and he uses that underlying principle in every kitchen design project he’s involved with. “The client’s needs establish the functional layout of the kitchen, which determines the form that can be designed. The fun and creative part is selecting the styles, colours, and features that give it personality,” says Matt.
